    This ski touring trip takes you to the highest peak of the Balkan peninsula, Musala at 2925 meters of altitude. The skin up can be shortened by taking a gondola ride to the upper parts of Borovets ski centre, from where the peak shows up. The gentle ski tour transforms into a sligthly more technical ascent in the last part, where boot crampons are much appreciated. There is a fixed cable to make this ascent safe, and soon you will be up on the roof of the Balkans.

    The skiing:
    From there on a good day the view expands toward mount Olympos in Greece, Pelister, Korab and Shar Mountain in Macedonia and the nearby massive Pirin Mountain. The descent is a choice of several gullies, and then you continue on a easier terrain that will conect to the ski centre pistes to take you all the way down, around 2000 vertical meters to you base.

    All participants must be reasonably fit and must have proper ski touring equipment for avalanche rescue: probe, shovel and transceiver. It can be rented by SharOutdoors at additional costs.
